Our approach
The workbook is neuro-affirming and strengths-based. It never asks for compulsory eye contact, sitting still, hiding stims or “good behaviour” scores, and it treats overwhelm as a reason to reduce demands. Progress is recorded with support levels (with a model, with visual support, with shared help, independently in this situation) rather than single scores. The content was informed by 27 referenced sources listed in the workbook, including NICE guidelines, the SEND Code of Practice, EYFS Development Matters, NHS and National Autistic Society guidance, the Education Endowment Foundation and peer-reviewed research on visual supports, social stories and neurodiversity-affirming practice. These organisations have not reviewed or endorsed this workbook.
